Winter Solstice

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Well…today is the shortest day of the year…and the longest night.  Annually, I am struck that at the darkest time of the year, the holy days of Chanukah (the celebration of light) and Christmas (with luminarios and colorful lights) both focus on light!  Furthermore, it is said that this is the time of year when the angels come closest to earth.. I love that idea! It means to me that more of their radiance surrounds us.

For some people…this season is the darkest time of year, while others glory in it.  Numerically, Solstice = 30. To me, 3 carries the light…its path is pleasant, it is about inspiration, 3 is the nunber that reminds us to lighten up…to bring more childlike fun and joy into our lives…to be more playful, and find the humor in things.  Especially now, with the economy as it is and so much fear, anxiety and uncertainty around us, it seems we are all so serious…me included..

What would happen if we all spent the day laughing? I feel better just writing that! I feel like people are too tense to laugh…somehow waiting for permission. So I’m sending everyone permission!  Let’s work at laughing. Wherever you are this day in your life…things will improve if you take the time to laugh…so  p l e a s e  do!  And Happy Solstice!

I woke up to a wonderful world of white snow today!

What does s n o w = numerologically? 1 + 5 + 6 + 5 = 17 (1 +7 = 8). Whenever I want to know something about a person or get engrossed in the book I’m reading, or want another perspective on something…I do the numbers. Its also fun for my brain!

Snow = 8. 8 on its highest level, is about going up to heaven, getting what you need and returning to earth with it — literally bringing heaven to earth. Interestingly enough the word GOD totals to 8 and 8 is also the number commonly associated with money (although I don’t really agree…I think its more about “balance of  the material and the spiritual”)

But back to my first definition of bringing heaven to earth…I watched that happen last night when it first began snowing.  Hmmm…A gift from God …that also has to do with money…at this time when money is high on everyone’ s list of thoughts and concerns. I’d like to think the snow is a reminder from God that everything is going to balance out (soon — I hope) and be beautiful. My wish for all of us!

Last month of 2009

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

December…12th month of the year. Numerology reduces 12 to 3. (1+2 = 3)Everything in the Pythagorian system of numerology cycles to 9. 9 days, 9 months, 9 years. There is a universal cycle and a personal one as well. When the month changes we all move to a new personal month.

 To find yours…add your day of birth + your month of birth + 2  (for 2009). Now take that total and add 3 and you will discover what your personal month is. Example — mine is 12 + 1 + 2 = 6.  When I add 3 for December, I learn that my personal month = 9.

What is yours?  Short/quick definitions of the numbers:

1 = new beginnings.  2 = peacemaking & harmony.  3 = creativity & self expression. 4 = form & structure. 5 = change & choices; 6 = relationships & beauty; 7 = faith & trust; 8 = money &  balance; 9 = forgiveness and endings.

December has two birthstones: blue topaz and turquoise.

 Happy birthday December kids!
